Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 19, 2026
ContactsFreeShare is a local desktop web app for maintaining a shared contact directory, syncing selected contact data with Google Contacts, saving shared app data to Google Drive, and creating printable address book PDFs.
Information ContactsFreeShare Uses
Depending on which features are enabled, ContactsFreeShare may use:
- Google account email and account identifiers to identify the connected Google account.
- Google Contacts data to import contacts into ContactsFreeShare and upload user-approved contact edits back to Google Contacts.
- Limited Google Drive file access to create, read, update, move, and delete ContactsFreeShare-created files and folders, and files or folders the user explicitly selects or provides to the app, for shared app data, app settings, meeting data, field list layouts, address book PDFs, backup files, editor lock data, and app revision data.
- Local app data stored on the user's computer, including contacts, meetings, field lists, PDF output, settings, logs, and uploaded contact photos.
How Google Data Is Used
ContactsFreeShare uses Google data only to provide user-facing app features selected by the user or app administrator. Google Contacts data is used for contact import and contact update workflows. Limited Google Drive file access is used to create, read, update, and delete ContactsFreeShare-created files and folders, and user-selected files or folders, needed for shared app data, backups, PDF output, and editor coordination.
Google Drive Access Scope
ContactsFreeShare requests limited Google Drive file access. This access is used so the app can create and maintain its ContactsFreeShare folder structure, sync shared app files, save generated PDFs and backups, manage editor lock files, and work with files or folders the user explicitly selects or provides to the app.
ContactsFreeShare does not use Drive access to review, collect, or share unrelated Google Drive content. The app limits its Drive operations to ContactsFreeShare-created folders and files, app-created files, and folders or file IDs that the user provides in app settings.
Google API Limited Use Disclosure
ContactsFreeShare's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
ContactsFreeShare does not sell Google user data, use Google user data for advertising, transfer Google user data to unrelated third parties, or use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Where Data Is Stored
ContactsFreeShare stores app data locally on the user's computer. When Google sync is enabled, ContactsFreeShare also stores selected shared app data in the connected user's Google Drive. ContactsFreeShare does not operate a separate public cloud database for user contact data.
Data Sharing
ContactsFreeShare does not sell, rent, or trade Google user data. ContactsFreeShare does not disclose Google user data to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, unrelated third parties, or artificial intelligence model training services.
Google user data is shared, transferred, or disclosed only in these limited cases:
- To Google services, through Google's APIs, when the app imports contacts, updates contacts, saves files to Google Drive, reads app-created or user-selected app files from Google Drive, or deletes app-created Drive files at the user's direction.
- To other users or editors who already have access to the same Google Drive folders, shared folders, or Google Contacts account selected by the user or app administrator.
- To the user's own computer and browser so the local ContactsFreeShare app can display, edit, print, export, or save the user's contacts, field lists, address books, PDFs, settings, and logs.
- When required by law or necessary to protect the security, integrity, or legal rights of ContactsFreeShare or its users.
ContactsFreeShare does not operate a separate third-party server that receives or stores Google Contacts data or Google Drive file contents.
User Control And Deletion
Users can control or remove app access in these ways:
- Disconnect Google from the ContactsFreeShare Google Connect page.
- Remove ContactsFreeShare access from the user's Google Account security settings.
- Delete ContactsFreeShare local app data from the user's computer.
- Delete ContactsFreeShare-created files and folders from the user's Google Drive.
Data Protection And Security
ContactsFreeShare treats Google Contacts data, Google Drive files, contact photos, editor credentials, and shared app files as sensitive data. The app uses the following protection mechanisms:
- Google OAuth is used for authorization. ContactsFreeShare does not ask users for their Google password.
- Google API requests are sent over HTTPS/TLS.
- Google OAuth tokens and local app data are stored on the user's computer in the ContactsFreeShare app data folder, not in a public ContactsFreeShare cloud database.
- Shared app files are stored in Google Drive folders controlled by the connected Google account and protected by Google account permissions.
- Editor access is controlled by the app's editor sign-in flow and editor lock file to reduce conflicting edits in multi-editor use.
- ContactsFreeShare limits Drive operations to ContactsFreeShare-created folders and files, app-created files, and folder or file IDs provided by the user in app settings.
- Users can revoke Google access at any time from their Google Account security settings or disconnect Google from the app.
Users should install ContactsFreeShare only from a trusted source and should keep their computer, browser, operating system, and Google account protected.
